Dear Mr D., Botulinum toxin can be used for severe muscle tension. There is often a vicious circle of muscle tension, pain, more tension and even more pain and so on. By “paralysing” the muscles the circle can be broken and thereby the pain eliminated. Once this circle is broken there is a good chance of staying free of pain in the long term.
