Scheuermann’s disease what does this expression mean? What kind of illness is it exactly? von H.   |  am 2002-12-03 15:22:57  Answer: Scheuermann’s disease Dear Mr H., Scheuermann’s disease is an illness which occurs in adolescent age or early adult age. The vertebral disc-tissue penetrates the base and top plates of the neighbouring vertebral body (so-called Schmorl’s node) This can in time cause pain in the spine. Yours sincerely, Dr. med. S.
